A local community theatre group has been given a generous donation of £2,800.
Whitley Bay based Supply Teaching Agency First Class Supply, made a kind donation to the Seaton Delaval Pantomime Society, allowing the purchase of 80 brand new foldable chairs plus two modern storage racks.
Based at the Seaton Delaval Arts Centre, the Pantomime Society produces a summer musical show and traditional Christmas pantomime each year along with other events and performances for the local community. The organisation gives young and old the opportunity to take part in amateur theatre both on stage, behind the scenes and in a number of different roles.
The previous chairs the group had been using were donated second hand back in 2007 and in dire need of replacement. The new smart and comfortable chairs will now be used for all productions the society puts on, along with other events and functions at the Arts Centre.
Headed up by Directors and Founders Lesley Robinson and Steph Boulton, First Class Supply are the leading local independent supply teaching agency and are proud to be the preferred agency for schools across the whole of Northumberland. The generous donation is an ongoing aspect of the partnership between the two organisations. Previously First Class Supply has bought tickets to a whole evening of the annual pantomime and donated them to a number of local schools in the area.
Steph Boulton, a Director at First Class Supply said “We are delighted to be able to support the Seaton Delaval Pantomime Society again. However this year we wanted to make a donation that would not only have a really positive impact on the group and its members, but also help secure its future going forward. We recognise the fantastic work they do week in week out teaching acting, singing and dance to local children and adults along with providing high quality shows for the community to enjoy.
Stu Bennett, Chairman of the Seaton Delaval Pantomime Society added “We are delighted to receive this donation as part of the ongoing support from Lesley and Steph at First Class Supply. It’s amazing to have such strong support from a local company on our doorstep. The new chairs look fantastic and will provide a much more comfortable experience for patrons who come to watch our productions going forward.”
